NiuvanÂniemi hospital
Niuvanniemi Hospital provides specialized forensic psychiatric care and forensic assessments for the entire country. It provides training, education and development services on a national and international level. The hospital has 284 beds for adult patients and 13 beds for underage patients. The hospital also serves as the Department of Forensic Psychiatry of the University of Eastern Finland, providing basic, further and complementary education in forensic psychiatry, and conducting research in a wide variety of health sciences.
